The
Jeweler
In
the early 60's, he came to America as
a recent graduate of the Academy of
Jewelry in Valenza, Italy.
Upon
his arrival in New York, Vincenzo
Azzinnari honed his skills working for
some of the most prestigious firms in
the jewelry industry. As time passed,
his passion for design, coupled with
his experience, gave rise to thoughts
of opening his own retail store and
laboratory on the premises to serve
his community.
In 1979, encouraged by the full
support of his loving wife Lina, he
opened "Il Gioiello".
Catering to mostly Italian clientele,
he attended to the needs of the very
young parents of today's young adults
by dedicating and suggesting items and
new styles. He did this mostly by
importing the latest items in Gold
jewelry from their native country and
creating new trends with his custom
designs. The business quickly
outgrew its original location and
moved to its current location on 18th
Avenue, in the Heart of Brooklyn's
Little Italy.
"Now
I cater to the third generation of
them". Over twenty years later,
he still caters to his loyal clientele
as well as expanding his reputation to
those who love and appreciate fine
Italian design, workmanship and style.
He is happy and proud to admit that he
has made most of his clientele's
dreams come true by designing and
creating the finished product as they
requested.
During these years, he has noticed a
change in his clientele. The young
adults of today are well aware of what
they want as far as quality and style,
and are much more educated about what
they are purchasing. Even though they
navigate the web, they always come in
to see the actual item, shown to them
with an abundance of personal
attention.
Vincenzo Azzinnari continues to create
astonishing objects of art in Gold,
and Platinum, while his wife Lina, and
the rest of his family, dedicate their
time and personal attention attending
to their valuable clientele.
It
is with great respect and undying love
that we honor our Founders, Father and
Mother, Vincenzo Azzinnari, whom passed rather
unexpectedly in October 2004,
and Lina Azzinnari, whom passed rather
unexpectedly in November 2005. We think about you every
single day. Il Gioiello is now
owned by their daughter Anna and her
husband John.
